The priorities
Neil believes it’s time to get back to common sense leadership. He’s focused on making government work for people again. Protecting women’s right, seniors, standing up for working families, and ensuring fairness, safety, and opportunity for all.
neil’s key issues

women's rights
- Raised by a single mother, I learned firsthand the strength and power of women. I am fortunate to have both a remarkable mother and an incredible wife in my life. I will always fight to protect women’s equality under the law.
- I fully support a woman’s right to choose, with no exceptions.
- Women still earn less than men for the same work, and that gap must be closed. Every worker deserves fair pay for their contributions.

earned benefits
- It is our duty to protect senior citizens, like my own mother, from losing access to healthcare or Social Security
- I am committed to building on the reforms of former Social Security Commissioner Martin O’Malley- reducing wait times, improving customer service, and safeguarding these vital programs for generations to come.

creating good jobs with good benefits
- Our district has seen major employers leave over the years, and it’s time to bring those jobs back.
- The good news is that our fundamentals are strong: we have millions of square feet of available office space and a prime location next to one of the world’s busiest airports, right in America’s nexus city.
- I will establish a dedicated local economic development team within my office to attract more commerce and create jobs- inviting companies to set up offices, data centers, and research parks right here in our district.

immigration
- We need comprehensive immigration reform. From creating more legal pathways to the American Dream to helping those with skills critical to our economy, we must change the system while continuing to invest in secure borders.
- Supporting strong borders hasn’t, does not, and will not ever mean allowing ICE to act like a gang. Deportation efforts should focus on violent felons, not kidnapping hardworking families trying to build a life here.

affordability
- Half of Americans say groceries have become harder to afford- a statistic that is absolutely unacceptable in the world’s richest nation.
- Trump’s tariffs and economic policies have raised the cost of living and put our economy at risk.
- It’s clear that his approach has failed. Congress must reclaim the authority to levy tariffs, ensuring they protect American industries without placing undue burdens on consumers.

Standing Up to MAGA Extremism
- We need to hold this administration accountable for its disrespect of the rule of law, the House has to exercise its investigative powers on the executive branch and refer all evidence to the respective bodies for further actions.

Healthcare
- We have a doctor shortage in this country. Each year, thousands of medical school graduates can’t find residencies based on an artificial cap based on federal funding levels from three decades ago. To fix this, we must:
- Lift the cap and allow hospitals, the states, and charitable networks to fund residencies
- Charter a bipartisan accreditation board to break the ACGME monopoly.
- I will vote to protect medicare and medicaid benefits. Earned benefits for our seniors and programs that help working families should not be on the chopping block.

Education
- We need to immediately restore full funding for the Department of Education.
- We need to increase funding for STEM programs from kindergarten through post-doctoral programs; without a competent STEM-trained workforce, we will lose our competitive edge.
- The federal government needs to provide more assistance especially to the trades and education for dental hygienists and other healthcare workers that need a two year degree.

Environment
- We need to reduce our emissions and reach net-0 carbon emissions as soon as possible.
- To get there we need to boost our green energy infrastructure by investing in solar, wind, geothermal, and nuclear power especially.
- We also need to upgrade our energy transmission and EV charging infrastructure.
- I support the continuation of conservation and wildlife restoration efforts on federal lands.

National Defense
- We are now in an era of constant competition and threat from peer and near-peer rivals. A strong military is the key to keeping our nation safe.
- We need to invest more in emerging technologies especially in space and cyberspace.
- We need a strong shipbuilding base. I support the bipartisan SHIPS for America Act spearheaded by Senator Mark Kelly.
- We need to invest more in the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and the state maritime academies. This will ensure a constant supply of highly trained merchant marine officers to staff the merchant marine in times of peace and assist the Navy in times of war.

Foreign Policy
- We must restore close diplomatic relations with Canada and Mexico. Good neighbors create safer neighborhoods.
- I stand with the bipartisan coalition supporting Ukraine’s self-defence against the illegal and genocidal invasion of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin.
- I fully support the ongoing peace process in Israel and Gaza. Once a lasting peace is restored, Israelis and Palestinians alike can live in peace and grow under a two state solution.
- We must restore USAID funding immediately. Foreign aid is the most cost effective counterterrorism investment that can be made; nothing stops an insurgency like a job.

Reducing the debt
- It is no surprise to anyone that the federal government is living beyond its means. For the past few years we have run deficits over $1 TRILLION outside of COVID spending years. These high deficits lead to a high national debt and more expensive debt servicing costs. In fact, Washington now spends more on servicing our existing debts than on defense.
- It is clear that we need to take action to restore fiscal responsibility to our government. I stand for reducing the deficit through smarter spending and by closing tax loopholes so that major corporations and billionaires pay their fair share.
- Trump’s disastrous tax breaks for the wealthiest in our society only worsen the problem, everyone needs to pay their fair share.
