The priorities
Neil believes it’s time to get back to common sense leadership. He’s focused on making government work for people again. Protecting women’s right, seniors, standing up for working families, and ensuring fairness, safety, and opportunity for all.
neil’s key issues

women's rights
- Neil Khot was raised by a single mother and understands firsthand the strength and power of women. He is running to champion the core belief that equal opportunity is a fundamental American right.
- We will relentlessly defend a woman’s right to make her own personal healthcare decisions.
- We must close the wage gap immediately. It is unacceptable that women still earn less than men for the same work; every single worker deserves fair pay for their contributions.

PROTECTING SENIORS
- Protecting our seniors is a sacred responsibility. Neil is clear: we will never allow access to healthcare or Social Security to be put at risk for political gain.
- We are committed to strengthening Social Security and Medicare for current and future generations. These are earned benefits, not entitlements.
- We will modernize the system by supporting reforms to reduce wait times, improve customer service, and safeguard these vital programs against political cuts.

creating good jobs with good benefits
- Our district’s future depends on economic revitalization. While we have seen major employers leave over the years, our fundamentals are strong: millions of square feet of available space and a prime location next to a world-class airport. We are perfectly positioned to be America’s next nexus region for commerce.
- We must aggressively attract new commerce and replace the economic pillars we lost (like Sears, Ameritech, and Motorola) with a new generation of world-class companies.
- Neil will establish a dedicated, proactive economic development team within his Congressional office to invite companies to set up offices, data centers, and research parks right here in our district.

immigration
- Neil Khot believes we need comprehensive immigration reform that honors the American ideal while securing our nation.
- We need smart, comprehensive reform that creates more legal pathways to the American Dream and utilizes the skills critical to our economy.
- ICE should not be allowed to act like a gang. Deportation efforts should focus on violent felons. We will not tolerate abuses of power that target and tear apart hardworking families trying to build a life here.

affordability
- The high cost of living is crushing working families. When half of Americans say groceries have become harder to afford, that is an unacceptable statistic in the world’s richest nation.
- We must fight to lower costs at the kitchen table. Neil Khot understands that disastrous tariffs and failed economic policies have placed undue burdens on consumers and driven up the cost of everyday life.
- Congress must ensure that trade policy protects American industries without making groceries and essential goods unaffordable for our families.

Standing Up to MAGA Extremism
- Our campaign stands for defending the foundational integrity of our democracy and the rule of law. We must restore accountability to our government.
- We will insist on holding all parts of the administration accountable for any disrespect of the rule of law and restoring the system of checks and balances.
- The House must vigorously exercise its investigative powers on the executive branch and refer all evidence to the respective bodies for appropriate, impartial actions.

Healthcare
- Neil Khot is committed to making quality healthcare accessible and affordable by solving systemic problems. We are facing a doctor shortage driven by outdated, artificial federal limits.
- We will protect ACA subsidies
- We will fix the healthcare workforce crisis by immediately lifting the cap on federally funded medical residencies, allowing hospitals, states, and charitable networks to fund the training of thousands of new doctors.
- We will charter a bipartisan accreditation board to reform the existing system and break the ACGME monopoly, enabling faster, smarter growth in our medical workforce.
-
We will protect every American's earned benefits and vote to safeguard Medicare and Medicaid.

Education
- Investing in education is investing in the future competitiveness and success of the 8th District.
- We must immediately restore full funding for the Department of Education, recognizing that our schools are the foundation of our economy.
- We must supercharge funding for STEM programs from kindergarten through post-doctoral studies to maintain our competitive edge in science and technology.
- We will expand federal assistance for vocational and technical education, especially for high-demand careers like trades, dental hygienists, and other healthcare workers who need two-year degrees.

Environment
- The time for delay is over. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to transition to a net-zero carbon future as soon as possible.
- We must make historic investments in clean energy infrastructure, prioritizing technologies like solar, wind, geothermal, and next-generation nuclear power.
- We must rapidly upgrade our energy transmission and EV charging infrastructure to support the widespread adoption of clean technologies.
- We are committed to the continuation of effective conservation and wildlife restoration efforts on all federal lands.

Foreign Policy
- Neil Khot believes in leading with principle, strengthening our alliances, and using smart diplomacy to create a more stable world.
- We must immediately restore close diplomatic and economic relations with Canada and Mexico. Good neighbors are the foundation of safer and more prosperous neighborhoods.
- We stand firmly with the bipartisan coalition supporting Ukraine’s self-defense against illegal invasion.
- We fully support the goal of a lasting peace in Israel and Gaza that allows both Israelis and Palestinians to live and grow under the security of a two-state solution.
- We must restore USAID funding immediately. Foreign aid is the most cost-effective counterterrorism investment we can make—nothing stops an insurgency like a job.

Reducing the debt
- It is no surprise that Washington is living beyond its means, running multi-trillion-dollar deficits. We must restore fiscal responsibility to our government.
- We stand for reducing the deficit through smarter, more responsible spending practices.
- We must demand fairness by closing corporate tax loopholes and ensuring that major corporations and billionaires pay their fair share, rather than saddling working families with debt.
- We reject disastrous tax breaks for the wealthy that worsen the problem; everyone must contribute to the strength of our nation.
