IL-08 Congressional Candidate Neil Khot Statement on the Killing of Renee Nicole Good
The murder of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis is a devastating loss of life and demands immediate accountability.
The use of deadly force by law enforcement must always be a last resort. Video released so far raises serious questions and appears to contradict ICE’s initial claims, yet the agency moved quickly to defend the shooting before a full, independent review could occur.
We cannot tolerate brazen misconduct by ICE, including the reported denial of immediate medical care after the shooting. When the government takes a life, transparency is not optional and cannot be delayed.
ICE must release all available footage and records and submit to an independent investigation. No federal agency is above the law, and accountability is not optional.
Renee Nicole Good’s life mattered. Her family and community deserve the truth.
